Food Service in Inns and Hotels

Food Service in Inns and Hotels

Although most Inns and Hotels have always offered some food services. Based on the cost of stocking food supplies and the needed labor compared to income, hotels have always been putting more effort in room sales because of the more profitable room income.

Food services in general offer only a small profit margin. Small motels and inns often do not offer any food above a continental breakfast and coffee. However no better hotel nowadays can afford “not to offer” a food operation in house or attached to the premises.
